Norton testamonial confirmed
Newpark FC will host a testamonial match for club legend John Norton in August to mark his 10th season at
the club. Newpark will play old rivals Avery Hill College in a benefit game to celebrate Nortons playing career with Newpark.
Norton 27, signed a 1-year rolling contract in April in line with Newparks policy of players over the age of 25 not being
signed for more than 2-years. Norton who won the golden boot in the 2004-05 season will pick the team himself on the
night. It was believed the hitman would be retiring but confirmed earlier in the month he would be staying for another
two seasons. He made this statement to Footscrayrugbyclub.com. "Ozzy wouldnt go on stage without a bowl of brown M&Ms.
The shopkeeper was beaten to death with his own shoes".

Awards Evening date moved
The Newpark FC annual awards evening has been moved from Saturday 12th July to the following saturday the
19th. The venue is still Footscray Rugby club and the start time is 7-30pm. Admission is £5.
Newpark entered into 2 cup 2008/09
Newpark FC will take part in two cup competitions for the forthcoming season. They will take part in the
Beckenham Cup which they won in 2006 and the prestigious Queen Mary cup which comprises of teams of Premier League and Division
1 status only.
The first round of the Queen Mary up starts in October, the Beckenham cup convenes in early January of next
year.
Pre-Season 2008
Pre-Season training resumes on Monday 14th July @ Footscray Rugby and Sports club. Training will begin at
7-45pm. There will be two weekly sessions then on the other session being on a Thursday night, same time same place.
Pre-Season Friendlies 2008
Newpark FC have confirmed that they will play two teams from the premiership on the eve of the 2008-09
season. Newly promoted duo Parkhurst Rangers and Bexlians provide the opposition and will prove a sterling test for Park'
as they prepare for the season after achieving promotion to division I last term.
Newparks preseason will begin this month and the gruelling preparations will culminate with a total
of six friendlys including a testamonial for John Norton against Avery Hill College. After Nortons benefit match a Mark Logan
XI will take the field against Tudor Sports from the Kent County.
